Rylan in the Hospital with Gastroenteritis

Last Saturday Rylan woke up choking while vomiting. I rushed over to his crib and fliped him upside down and got it out of him. I noticed his whole crib was soaked in vomit. I took him over to our bed and he still kepts vomiting, and it was comming out foamy. He just say on the bed, face down, moaning and wimpering. He woudln't stop vomiting, and when he did vomit he would just heave until he couldn't breathe. I got really scared and so we went to the hospital. They said that he just had the stomach flu and told me to buy him some pedialyte and he should be fine. But if he didn't eat and kept vomiting over the next two days to bring him back. Well over the next two days what do you know he keeps vomiting, doesn't eat much and wasn't peeing. The poor guy had terrible diareah so bad it was like water that would come out of his diaper in puddles on the floor. He started doing better on Monday hadn't vomited, even ate some cerial and had some formula But them Tuesday morning he starts throwing up again and wont drink nothing, no formula or pedialyte. He had no energy and just laid on the floor or the crib on his tummy moaning and wimpering. Anyway I took him back to the hospital early in the evening cuz i got really worried, and they admitted him and hooked him up to IV. They took a whole lot of blood and tested it as well as his urine and found out he had Gastroenteritis (basically the stomach flu) We were at the hospital until late Wednesday night. He finnaly started peeing and drinking pedialyte.

He's doing ok now. He cry's a lot from terrible diareah and a severe diaper rash. And probably just cuz he's still not feeling good. But he's drinking lots and lots of formula and peeing still. And he hasnt' thrown up since Tuesday.

He was such a little trooper while he was sick. He would give you big puppy dog eyes and then smile at you so cute. And he gave me big hugs in the hospital as if to say "thanks mommy for taking care of me". It was the sweetest thing.
